The Morgan Hill Community Foundation invites you to attend the Friday May 10th Wine & World Music FEST @ Morgan Hill Cellars. The event is FREE to attend and includes wine, food and of course MUSIC! This is the sole fundraising event for the Morgan Hill Peace Project supporting the creation of a 10ft tall vertical column engraved with the word "PEACE" in mutliple languages. The monument will be located near the Morgan Hill Library and Sister City Benches.
To create a peace monument in Morgan Hill to symbolize peace, tolerance, and unity. This will establish Morgan Hill as a culture of friendship and hope for a better world- linking Morgan Hill with people of all faiths and nationalities worldwide. There are tens of thousands of peace monuments throughout the world, in over 180 countries and on every continent.
The Morgan Hill Peace Monument was designed by Artist David Middlebrook. The durable basalt column creates a legacy of perpetuity and will be located on the lawn west of the Morgan Hill Public library. The word “Peace” will be engraved on the column in English, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Irish-Gaelic, Vietnamese, Arabic, French, Hebrew, Mandarin (Chinese), Tagalog (Philippine), Hindi (East Indian), Dari (Persian), and Braille. The languages chosen reflect Morgan Hill’s sister cities of Japan, Mexico, Italy, and Ireland along with other languages reflecting Morgan Hill’s diverse community.
