Name: Brainstorming Special Session - MHCOC Education Committee Monthly Meeting
Date: April 6, 2018
Time: 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM PDT
Event Description:
Note: Please park in the lot between Union Bank and Rosso's Furniture.

This month we will be briefly reviewing accomplishments from the 2017-18 school year and then having a brainstorming session on what projects we should consider for the 2018-19 year.

If you are from a local school, please come prepared to say the one or two things you would most appreciate support with in the coming school year.

If you are a local business and/or community member, please come prepared to say the one or two things you would most like to offer in support of local students.

Special note: There are two positions open on the Morgan Hill Unified School District's Measure G Bond Expenditures Citizens Oversight Committee. This group typically meets four times a year for 1-2 hours and is tasked with verifying that bond proceeds are being spent appropriately. It is both an interesting and meaningful way to participate.  Click here for the application form.

2018-18 Accomplishments:
  1. Three presentations of Rock the Mock (reaching over 500 students) thanks to many volunteers and the coordinating efforts of Diana Wood and Laura Forrest.
  2. Volunteer recruitment for the 5th annual Read Across America TK-5th grade read-in which reached over 160 classrooms.
  3. The first annual Morgan Hill Job Shadowing Day
  4. Successfully turned over the Science Fair to Oakwood School and volunteers from the county-wide Synopsys Science Fair.
  5. Ongoing facilitation of communication between the K-12 schools, SCC Library, Gavilan College and community members through monthly Education Committee meetings.
